- Not completing required treatment plans. Depending on the circumstances surrounding your case, you will be given certain plans for treatment and for probation which need to be followed closely. In Michigan, it is mandatory for anyone convicted of an alcohol-related offense to attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings. You must show documentation of attendance and evidence of working through the “twelve steps” process.
- No providing evidence of sobriety. In addition to attending AA, most offenders need to demonstrate that they have maintained at least six months of sobriety from alcohol or drugs prior to their scheduled hearing. Evidence includes submission of notarized letters from those who can attest to your sobriety. You also need to submit to a 10-panel urine drug test.
- Driving without a license. There are many people who continue to operate their vehicles despite having their license suspended or revoked. If you are caught and charged with DWLS, additional time will be added to your suspension period.
